Rear of the 1920 ACU medal won By 'Edwards Towy Garage!'

Scottish Six Days Trial 1920

Pentre Cwrt Hill Climb 1920

Shall place an enlarged pic later

AC Mighty Atom Trials team 1909, discovered & uncovered for us by Dave Martin, names & locations relating to these Trikes wd bring a huge section to light, doesanyone out ther have the info or the slightest piece?.

Dave Martin originally of Cardiff, now  of New Orleans has uncovered more data we can all appreciate.

From Dave Martin, statistics of the Mighty Atom's 1911 ACU Trials progress.

Another entry in that 1911 Trial, again found by Dave Martin, Arthur Williams of Crickhowell has identified this being Driven by the Inventor 'Mr Morgan' himself. ?

Here is where George Brough turned to for His Brough Superior Power plants & Speedway Riders Worldwide plus all sorts of machinery calling for power units.  This plus the image below found for us by Dave Martin who has helped make this site worth searching.

Here is a Pic. sent in as 1921 ISDT, however with 'Scots' also on it, plus the shop text seen astern of them is a clue, so it could be Scottish Six Days?.  Anyway that guy on the centre machine does look distinctly like George Brough, see the pic below.  Can you Identify others please?.

George Brough ready to go over to the 'Big Twin' as u can see him with in the Switzerland 1922 ISDT elsewhere in this site.

Douglas Speedway lady rider Fay Taylour who swept World Speedway from late 20's into 1930's

Fay Taylour, seen here riding a 1929 P&M Panther in 1929 ISDT.

London Ladies Trial MC Club of 1932, another delightful finding by Dave Martin, can anyone out there find us more info on this please?.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP US IDENTIFYING THIS RIDER PLUS LOCATION & DATE PHOTO SENT WITHOUT INFO, THANKS to sender as well. 250 DKW is what has now come in. George Todd has come part of the way to rescue us by advising HH 2100 is a Hamburg registration Mark  (Hansa Hamburg) many thanks to George Todd, can anyone give us a date for the machine or identify that via number from a 30's programme??.

1933 Bianchi ISDT Team can anyone help identify please.

1934 ISDT Entrant, found by Dave Martin.

Billy Tiffin Snr. on the Works 1934 Velocette he rode

NOT a ISDT rider Pic. but look what the Godfather rode then, Marlon Brando on a circa 1954/55 Matchless twin, (his leather cap may have blown off) Another of Dave Martin's Discoveries.

Plaque of the 1948 Italian based ISDT

WELSH 2 DAYS Trial, but who, when where & on what, Dave Martin again found this.

1951 Italian Round at Varese is this a Bultaco or is it actually Senor Bulto Himself?

Brittain's 1948 Royal Enfield Bullet

Hugh Viney with his Matchless at Lake Como 1948 ISDT or so we thought until Beppe (G) Bonardi kindly corrected us.   It was 1951 when the ISDT was held near Lake Como whereas 1948 event was located 350 km from Lake Como, it helps immensely when people can correct us or bring better accuracy, so big thanks to Beppe Bonardi.

East v West Wales 1948 Championship Winning Team, This started as just an unidentified Pic. number 13 is L G Wedgbury, Arthur Williams identified far left number 1 as Cliff Jayne on a JAMES. (Motorcycle Shop at Brynmawr from where LGW bought his BSA was Jaynes) Jaynes Garage was owned by brothers & located on the Road between Brynmawr & Black Rock. Here in  upper right background we see Railway Signals & shed Arthur also believes this is where nowadays caravans are Parked up!, so please help with info re this pic. Cliff Jayne's brother in younger days informed Arthur Williams Cliff had been riding in 1949 ISDT & became quite badly injured after being knocked off by a Czech. rider on 3rd Day. (from the Steve Wedgbury collection, with help from Arthur Williams) This image has just been featured on pages of Old Bike Mart to see if readers can find further identities. Thanks to that:-My old friend & ISDT Gold % Silver winner Des James rang up to tell me "hey that's me on # 3 a pre WW2 BSA B25", es went on to identify George Munday as #17, then of Hirwaun & later to be of the Mundays of Brixton which were the most well known sidecar sorters & suppliers in Britain.  S George is sat here astride a pre WW2 250 Ariel.Standing behind is the team friend & fellow competitor Tony James of Croedyrhyw.Number 9 is Len Packer of Tredegar on a B32 BSA.  Next is number 7 Ray(Dapper) Heaton on  a 350 Girder forked Royal Enfield, the term "Dapper" came on account of that jaunty headgear angle.  Number 11 is Rhys Gilchrist whom I believe until not long ago ran a Guest house at Knighton, he in those days stemmed from Pontllanfraith & became involved with Bristol & Rolls Royce Aeroplane components, last but not least is #15 Dewi Hughes of Brynmawr.  A number of their Wartime outings were under the auspices of the Home Guard exercises & what a DR team this would have made!. All this stemmed from a photo in those being sorted after L G Wedgbury passed on. with a lot of people involved in researching, (I am highly privileged to have been at all involved in recording the outcome.)

Here is a section we need to trace relative data, like this Garage at Oswestry, is the Evans connected with Ariel Works Team man D S Evans, it is post WW2 see the white painted rear WW2 requirement mudguard on bicycle to the right.

Inside premises, can you identify anyone?

Oswestry 1951 collection of enthusiasts, any identities out there?

Who was this Oswestry Scrambles Arrival? 71 & Registrations could help.   Yes I know all about travelling like that, my BSA M21 Sidecar outfit carried my Methanol fuelled Dot framed 200cc Triumph Cub engined machine, my first sidecar racing effort came via needs when in a Brecon meeting they allowed me to transfer the entry to my sidecar outfit after the Cub motor blew up!,  next step was fitting a 1949 Square 4 motor in the lowered M 21 frame, that was hopeless against Triumphs Nortons & BSA so the rest is daft history!.

Who is Jack  with this Velo ohc powered machine, a front end of is it Triumph or Ariel & is the frame an early AJS 7R, where was it used, that big tank looks IoM bound, is there any info out there, a clue is that the word WEM followed the name Jack.  (Salopian?Shropshire?)

Georg Meier's BMW!

1951 ISDT Team SELECTION Trial was held naturally from Llandrindod Wells & here we can see the Norton Works machine allocated  ridden here by Dick Clayton.  The machine above was not used in the ISDT but is connected, plus I believe it still exists in a lovely & restored state.   Pics please if u have?

George Brown who would try anything darned hard!, here is the Vincent Works 500 Trial machine circa 1952, not in ISDT but well woryj inclusion after Dave Martin's finding it!!  Thanks Dave.

Below & later, George Brown, upright on a faster device setting several WORLD RECORDS. via  Dave Martin yet again

1952 Czechoslovakian Winning Trophy PLUS Vase teams of all CZ mounted, Trophy Team:- C. Kohlicek, R. Dusel, J. Novotny, J. Kubes, J. Pudil, VASE Team:-F. Blaha, V. Kolar B. Kabat.  Thanks again to Arthur Williams for that data, it makes what we have on view so much more important to records.

Helmut "Speedy" Clasen, ex Champion Cyclist & great guy to all on his DKW

1954 ISDT Ad seen being flogged on ebay!.

Dave Martin again found this Museum pic of the NSU 1956 outfit setup used in ISDT 1956, Dave reckons  that Schnapps can do that to people!.

1956 ISDT Pic, looks like an AJS or Matchless to me, anyone out there with info please?

1958 Johnny Brittain Royal Enfield (need it be said?)

Sammy Miller was to ride this Ariel in 1958 ISDT at Garmisch-Partenkirschen, when Sammy was woken at 5 am he was in a bad way, from some virus, a boon for Non Ariel manufacturers plus all other competitors!!!

ISDT 1958 Ron Langston on the Works Ariel sister machine went on to take a Gold

59 JAWA Ad. again seen on ebay

IOM ISDT 1965

Star man Axthelm first Day 1960 ISDT

From down under, Tim Gibbes with another star from far away, Bud Ekins who has so sadly recently left us, great people & riders both I think 1964.

This pic. was sent in here showing Italian Team, however I do not know which event plus when & where was this taken?

MZ, pic says it all!

1965 ISDT in IOM

USA rider C Coleman

Richard Sayer, Gold Medalist 1965 IOM ISDT this area looks well photographed in faster comps!!

Late 50 into mid 1960's is the best I can get on what may be a POLISH JUNAK M10 175cc Machine? but with a hefty chunk of motor!, can anyone with info please contact me.                                              * ABSOLUTELY GREAT INFO HAS ARRIVED, a more exact piece of data comes in from TOM alias Trialsman13 identifying this more accurately as a Model 07R not Model 10, these were produced in 350 & 500cc in late 60's.  Many thanks for the info, it can help more than just me.
